Early Childhood Qualifications Directory
AGECS has seen the need to provide a quick view listing of all EC qualifications offered in Australia, for graduates and potential students to have a starting point to investigate their studies.
This listing of qualifications is based upon the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development's PDF document supplied on their website, specifically for Regulation 5 (1) of the Children’s Services Regulations 2009.

Graduates’ Association has always stood for the highest standards in early childhood education. That has meant advocating the best possible training for early childhood educators and fighting for recognition of their professional status in the wider community.
As an alumni we have supported the development of diploma and degree level courses in the raining colleges and universities. For example in the decades when primary school teachers were two year certificated, our Association supported the three year diploma level training required for early childhood teaching. We argued that a wider skill set was required to fulfill the complex role involved in working with young children and their families.
Our Association has fought to raise community understanding of the substantial body of knowledge that early childhood educators bring to their work and of the foundational importance of that work.
You also have a responsibility to carry that message out into to the community. You can do this by unrelenting advocacy of the profession and by ensuring your professional standing is recognized by your employer.
Do not undervalue yourself or the profession. Know your worth. For information about awards, salary levels and your rights as a professional we suggest the following website.
